“Behind the Scenes” is designed to give you a taste of what life at CCPA is all about.
Spend a day at CCPA with “Behind the Scenes”, a free event for aspiring performing artists that includes a campus tour, lunch or dinner, and a chance to ask questions about the performing arts.
And the best part? You’ll have the opportunity to participate in workshops in singing, acting, or dance led by professional artists.
Here’s what you can expect at a typical “Behind the Scenes” event:

An annual tradition since the College’s founding, CCPA Diploma students will take the stage in a shared performance with the Band of the 5th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, for a concert celebrating and honouring service. Through song and poetry, the service and sacrifice of veterans are honoured.
Co-presented by the District of Oak Bay for the public at the Dave Dunnet Community Theatre, with tickets are Pay-What-You-Can with proceeds going to support the Canadian Heritage Arts Society and the Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre.

A celebration through song for the festive season, the first year diploma students will perform for our community in a relaxed and joyful performance that will warm the heart as winter settles in.

One of the most exciting events in our season, this 2-day festival celebrates the innovation and creativity of our artists-in-training. Creating new work, nurtured and mentored by industry professionals, our soon-to-graduate students lead their peers to realize their works. The festival is a glimpse into the inspiring potential these artists have to offer.
Each evening of the festival is a collection of different works created by CCPA students! Line-ups for each performance will be announced in early March.
